Project Overview: Flood
Monday, 26 October 2009 11:46

Recently, as you probably know, here in Atlanta we experienced some flooding.  Parts of Atlanta were completely underwater.  Unfortunately for many homeowners their homes were damaged by the flooding.  SCS was hired to some of the demolition work in one of these homes.  The home at the height of the storm had about eighteen inches of water in it.  For this project we had to remove 4' of drywall/plaster from the areas where the water reached the eighteen inch maximum and two feet of drywall/plaster from the areas that only got about eight inches of water.  We also removed all of the furniture and stored it.  The flooring was water damaged and had to be removed as well.  Finally, fans and dehumidifies ran in the home untill everything was dry.  You can see all of this in the pictures below.
